My card was declined at the supermarket but I have enough money. Why?
A declined transaction can happen for several reasons even when your balance is sufficient:
- The relevant payment setting may be disabled — check that contactless, chip or online payments are enabled in the app (Wallet → Manage Account).
- The merchant’s bank may have blocked the transaction for security reasons (e.g. a new merchant category or an unusually large amount).
- The card may be frozen — check the card status in the app.
If none of the above explains the decline, email account@aletaplanet.com with the transaction details, merchant name, date and the amount attempted.
