Should I be worried about card skimming or contactless fraud?
Aleta Adventure cards use Visa’s tokenisation technology, meaning your actual card number is never transmitted during contactless or QR payments — a one-time token is used instead. This significantly reduces skimming risk.
Additional protections:
- You will receive a real-time notification for every transaction.
- You can freeze your card instantly via the app if you suspect misuse.
If you are concerned about someone reading your card wirelessly while it is in your wallet, a standard RFID-blocking card sleeve or wallet will prevent this, though Visa contactless requires very close proximity (a few centimetres) to work.
